Anaximenes believed in the air and Empedocles in all the four elements.
It was Heraclitus, who said panta rhei – everything flows. Finally, it was Democritus, who found the one core, the undividable unit of the world – ATOMOS, the indivisible one.

ATOMOS – an indivisible whole.
What we strive for is the treatment of the human being with all his individuality, uniting what is inseparable: utmost respect for the unity as presented by the body in all its anatomy and function and as medicine strives for in recognizing, understanding and comprehending disease and healing.
And the highest respect for individuality and freedom, in the way of shaping one’s own life, according to one’s constitution, and in the choice of the appropriate and right therapy for each individual, taking into account all tradition and all progress of medicine.
This mosaic can then finally cure everyone in the right way and possibly heal their suffering. This is the medicine of the Atomos clinics.
OUR PHILOSOPHY
THE CONCEPT
Our philosophy is as simple as it is challenging. We want to provide a medicine for people that the forefathers of our healing art longed for – a medicine that is holistic in its germ, its execution and its transmission – an indivisible. To make this idea the irrevocable principle of our daily hospital life is our desire and goal.
In this sense, there is no difference in values between the individual therapies, whether conventional medicine, psychotherapy or complementary medicine; what counts is exclusively which path is best suited to the individual situation of the patient with regard to his physical, but of course also mental, social and spiritual suffering. In every respect, the patient’s wishes and personal goals are the focus of all our efforts.
The patient’s consultation will always be guided by the timeless and sensible words: ‘First heal with the word, then with the remedy, and finally with the knife.’ [Paracelsus, Theophrastus Bombast von Hohenheim, 1493-1541]. And further, let us never forget: ‘To prescribe nothing at all is sometimes an excellent remedy’ [Hippocrates of Kos, 460-377 BC].
Neither legal concerns nor economic considerations will prevent us from remaining true to these principles and thus to strict indication.
We know that even the best operation cannot be successful in the long term if preparation and aftercare are not carried out with the utmost care and thus quality. Here, too, one medicine applies.
The time between medical services must no longer be lost time for the patient. In any case, in order to use it as a time-space for recovery, the patient must feel comfortable and accommodated. The facility will also help and encourage him to use his stay meaningfully in the context of his healing process.
Our understanding of illness, health and healing is no different from the ideas of antiquity or from modern attempts to define these difficult terms, as can be seen from the WHO definition of health. Man as a unity of body, soul and spirit can only recover when all are in harmony together.
ATOMOS – to restore the indivisible, in which we put all essential aspects of healing back together like a mosaic, will be the daily challenge and the potential success of our clinics.
